I wrote this piece in February 2015, before the general election and it is focused on that upcoming contest. However, I think the themes are relevant now. Street stall – September 26th

Our branch had a very busy and successful street stall today We pitched up next to some lovely Jehovah’s Witness people just outside the main doors of the Big Co-Op at the bottom of Clyde Shopping Centre. Benn Rapson, Liam Jamieson, Rikki Reid and Stevie Anderson raised their voices in support of a £10 minimum wage for all ages. Bankies were four square behind our petition to support TUC policy to raise the minimum wage to a basic level above the poverty line so that work pays and workers are less likely to be dependent on benefits that are being …
